Ultimate Factories: Coca Cola

Because the Coca Cola formula is the world's best secret, this ended up being more about the bottling process.
One thumbs down - I cannot believe I am giving anything Coke related a thumbs down.

Mega Factories: Lego

The essential Lego brick has not changed shape since 1958, since having the bottom design (which was previously hollow).
One and a half thumbs up for having learnt so much about the design process, plastic injection moulding and factories, on an early Sunday morning.

Amelie

Katrina Chim dislikes: people who snap their fingers to get someone's attention. She also dislikes patients who are late and do not apologise for it. Katrina Chim likes: Coca-Cola, a full moon, and synchronising her breathing with the rise and fall of a man's chest.
Two thumbs up, for how pretty and whimsical it is.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

Jenny was still going 'oh no!' at certain parts - even though she's watched it many times already! (how adorable).
Half a thumbs up, but then one thumbs down for the weirdly sexual-in-a-gross-way kraken giant tentacles (though I can't figure if I am more grossed out by them, or grossed out at myself for thinking this).

Liberal Arts

That was the meanest one night stand ever - and by meanest I mean she (Alison Janney) was a horrible person; not 'oh wow that was some wicked sex we just had' mean.
One and a half thumbs down because it is four days since I first started this, and I've fallen asleep on two separate occasions trying to finish it.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

I love love love LOVE this film.
Two thumbs up, and just because today felt a bit weird, here's to hoping a simple smileyface text message did the trick.

Catch A Tuesday (A presentation by Oliver Peoples)

http://vimeo.com/4682029 - Once again, the inclusion of this 'presentation', despite the premise of my blog, forces you to reconsider the blurring of the lines between advertising and creative works such as movies, TV shows and written articles.
One and a half thumbs up anyway because I liked how aloof and francophilic? it was.

Bend It Like Beckham

Think about what Keira Knightley, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Archie Panjabi have done recently... and then think about them back in 'Bend it like Beckham'... tee hee :)
One and a half 'Punjabi-not-Lebenese' thumbs up.

Diana Vreeland: The Eye has to Travel

"Where do I begin? The first thing to do, my love, is arrange to be born in Paris. After that, everything follows quite naturally"
One and a half thumbs up for 'Dee-anna' and her maaarvelously exaggerated half-narration.

Midnight In Paris

In regards to the conversation about aurally pleasing TV shows/movies, wordy dialogue interspersed with francais and accordion music would also do it.
One thumbs up for 'watching' - nay, listening - to this in on a bright post-cemetery-Sunday morning in bed, being nice and warm and sunny, but lonely points off because I am needing a man to spoon me (how so very sad).

Knocked Up

Not as funny on this second viewing.
Half a thumbs up only.
