It didn't feel like a Tarantino - bit grainy, too many excessive face close-ups, and it felt like it was missing a soundtrack or score for most of it.

Slow burn three quarters thumbs up - it was a good story, but I feel he needs to go back and remake it with more Tarantino gloss. I see why it is "nobody's favourite"

The Devil Wears Prada

I asked Josh if he would be mad if I had to miss his birthday for a last-minute work event. He said that would be fine. What was not fine was the year I took the day off to watch the Superbowl, but not for his birthday. Well that back-fired.
Two thumbs up - it was great background TV during an improptu 7 Wonders session.

The Help

It is so much fun to hate on Hilly. 

One and a quarter thumbs up - my last night of access to Stan (and Snitzel!) and of course I choose a movie I have watched many times before.

Spiderman: Far From Home

Zendaya you have done a 180 on me, you were really endearing in this one!
One and a quarter thumbs up - but if you really want endearing, also go and watch interviews with Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal together.

The Third Wife

Well that went into a lot of territory I was absolutely not expecting.
Half a thumbs up - the characters were not clearly set up at the beginning so all of us got confused about who was whom, or what their family relationship was... which was very pivotal for many scenes.

Atomic Blonde

I really liked the action scenes, particularly the last one - it actually felt realistic because she stumbles and falls, enemies don't wait their turn to attack, and people didn't just die instantly.
One thumbs up - it was pretty good! And has a hot Charlize Theron lesbian sex scene (just sayin')

Percy is a good kid.
One and a half thumbs up - and now I am wondering which relative was the one who brought the amazing Texas BBQ sauce years ago.

Death of Stalin

Steve Buscemi doing to slow box step to switch places during the funeral was gold!
One and a half thumbs up to all the orphaned "Russian cubs, Georgian cubs, Armenian cubs, Lithuanian cubs..."   - it was hilarious!

Solo

Miss Congeniality

Teenage me thought this was the sassiest line ever.
One and a half thumbs up - it is still a fun movie!

Captain America: The First Avenger

I love how this was not scripted but she was compelled to touch him. Isn't that all of us?
One thumbs up - I fell asleep and missed out a lot, including the fact that he was not cryogenically frozen as I always thought.

The Hitman's Bodyguard

Action scene sounds are my soothing whale noises - I will fall asleep.
One thumbs down - the flashbacks were so badly done and timed.

What a waste of so many cool actresses and actors.

I enjoyed Daniel Radcliffe and Lizzy Caplan.
Zero thumbs up - they are relying way too much on 'hypnosis' to do stuff, as if that is reliable.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu

Trailer: Looks lame, Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu is a terrible decision!
Movie: Amazing, nostalgic in the best way possible, Pikachu is SO GODDAMN CUTE and you love everything about him

Kill Bill: vol 1

Kill Bill double billing but we didn't go because we have graduation tomorrow morning.
Two thumbs up - it was amazing seeing and hearing it on the big screen!

Yvonne likes this movie (so not what I expected) because it is magic heist - now I am wondering does Yvonne like the heist part or the magic part? Or specifically both? I will have to ask her.
