Wondered if Drew Barrymore actually carried the guy like that or if it was a stunt person. Asked my personal trainer if she could do it and she said probably yes. I was very impressed. 

One thumbs up - could have been a best worst movie contender, but I don't think it is even a bad movie. The accents though... ouch. 

White House Down

The flag twirling was disgusting. 

Two thumbs down - but personal thumbs up to Yvonne for again clean sweep winning MCFC People's Choice. It truly was shit. 

Paris, 13th District

See! The Asian girl can be the desirable hot mess! Loved that. 

One and a quarter thumbs up - but also glad this did not inspire more onto the Paris wishlist. 

Where The Crawdads Sing

Well my Wednesday night went from gym class and an online lecture to free movie and McDonalds in the car park. What a turn of events!

Half a thumbs up - well if I were a 13 year old girl I would have thought this is the best ever. But I'm not, and it is a bit lame. But there were very picturesque moments. I guess a marsh is not the same as a swamp. 

Unfaithful

I think 'erotic thriller' to me is what 'magic heist' is to Yvonne. I am in for either/or but preferably both!

Best friendship montage (and callback!) I have ever seen

One and a quarter thumbs up - yes it could and should have been much shorter, but then we would miss out on so much ridiculousness. And those were the best parts!

Délicieux (Delicious)

I want the recipe for that potato and truffle appetizer. Or for someone to make it please.

One thumbs up - such beautiful scenes of food and the kitchen. Story was a bit meh at times. 

West Side Story

I don't like Ansel Elgort, so I am a bit annoyed that his beautiful face was very charming here and that he had quite a lovely voice. 

Two thumbs up - I surprised myself and loved everything about this! The costumes! The dancing! The Spanish! Maria and Tony were so cute! And a lot of songs ended up being familiar!

Top Gun: Maverick

The frat boys playing beer frisbee on Wailea beach had mad volleyball scene energy. It was glorious.

Two thumbs up - and two personal thumbs up to Nicole for 1. doing me a solid and waking me up in time for the football scene, and 2. "Aw they didn't kiss". Would have been an OH DAMN moment otherwise eh? :p

Death On The Nile

That beginning dance number was pretty much clothed sex with some dance thrown in. 

Half a thumbs up - nothing amazing but a perfect plane movie. Also helps I generally like Agatha Christies and whodunnits. 

Furious 7

Did they really just drive into that building?! No... cos they did it TWICE.

Zero thumbs up - but that was just lovely with the Paul Walker bit at the end. 

Parallel Mothers

Rain temporarily lost the ability to read clocks during this. It's 9:35am! Not 1:30pm!

One thumbs up - I quite liked the mothers storyline, but could have done without the history storyline. 

Top Gun: Maverick

They were not afraid to repeat the same themes/bangers that worked for original Top Gun. I like it!

Two thumbs up - might be hasty, but I cannot flaw it. There is action, there is sexiness, there are great songs, there is ham but without too much cheesiness. Perfecto!

Fast Five

Me (internally): When is 'This. Is. Brazil!" going to happen? I can't see this happening organically. Did the boys just make up the line?"

Daniel: *snatches away my cup noodles* "You are not ready for this"

Me: "Wait! What? Ohhh"

THIS. IS. BRAZIL!  

One thumbs up - it was ridiculous, and fun. This waaay better than Tokyo Drift (especially the wet rag lead guy), which in hindsight did not deserve it's rating. 

The Northman

I think I might be the only real-life person who finds Anya Taylor Joy good-looking.  

One thumbs down - like Game of Thrones but incoherent dialogue and not enough sexiness. 

Chungking Express

I wish I could have been a fly on the wall watching us watch this. Nicole and Matt on the ends smiling at the fun, whilst me, Reb and Daniel are just in the middle aghast. 

Zero thumbs up - It was all thumbs up in story one, but then thumbs down for story two. I know I shouldn't mark movies down because I don't like a character but the second girl just ground my gears. It was not cute for me. 

Everything Everywhere All At Once

I laughed, I cried, I literally gagged and vomited a little in my mouth twice (chapstick, gum). 

One and a half thumbs up - obviously biased, but I liked that it had its very Asian moments but was not an 'Asian story' per se, and that people are liking it for its originality.
