Background movie whilst I did these. Sometimes I dedicate too much time for silly little things.
One and three quarters thumbs up - I wish I could give it two thumbs up, but that Broadway dance scene is so unnecessary and disrupts the flow of the film.

The Lobster

I was particularly amused by everyone's matter-of-fact way of speaking, and that pantomime play about singles vs. couples.
One and a half thumbs up - I love that I have so many questions about this world it is set in, but also hate that there are no definitive answers even from the director.

Adaptation

One and a half thumbs down - too meta for Katrina, and I was painfully
reminded of Jim Carrey/Andy Kaufman, which I now realise the coincidence of the surnames.

You've Got Mail

"I know you!" Such a random line, but I like to use it in everyday life.
Two thumbs up.

Deadpool 2

I missed dong because I was busy looking at my ticket to check the end time, to see if I should pee or not?!
Barely a quarter thumbs up - it suffered from a large case of throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Iron Man

Oh the good old days when the villains were non-descript Arabs or your greedy business partner.
Half a thumbs up.

Girl, Interrupted

This is where I first learnt the word 'promiscuous'
One and a quarter thumbs up - a bit heavy for this afternoon - and did you know it was based on the author's (Winona Ryder's character) real life experience.

The Age of Adaline

You know how you pash a guy for the first time and then look into his eyes and say "Tell me something I can hold onto forever and never let go" - yeah, so relateable.
One and a half thumbs down - do not trust your 70 year old Asian man patient for movie recommendations - the only thing saving this from two thumbs down is Blake Lively's beautiful face and body.

American History X

It is scary that all you need to do is replace the camcorder with a smart phone and this is still happening in America today. 
Two thumbs up - I experienced very visceral reactions to this: I seethed with anger at the ignorant hateful rants by the loser skinheads, I was physically disgusted by the acts of violence in the racist riots - go and see this film.
