The Grand Budapest Hotel

It was ridiculous how fidgety and sleepy I was.
I am sad to say this, but only three-quarters thumbs up, because though it was beautiful as always and Ralph Fiennes was hilarious, it was not as charming or funny as his other films. And I am ashamed to say I got very scared at the head.

Even though all those double standards and injustices remain for Saudi Arabian females, I really liked that they kept her victory small, but her's nonetheless.

This is my favourite 'scary' movie - which shows both what a great movie it is, and what a wimp I am. 

Two thumbs up, but buttery mouth points off because 100g of microwave popcorn is too much!

Seen at the Palace Verona in Paddington, but I was so uncomfortable (for some reason) that I was a squirming mess at the end.

Fei's mind was more blown by meeting Andrea, than by 'Gravity'.

This is all equal parts creepy, and frightening (computers should NOT be self-aware!)
One and two-thirds thumbs up; and I am having an existential moment, because if you take Descarte's 'I think, therefore I am' as true, then she does exist because she is thinking and evolving... but she also does not exist. Hmm...

12 Years A Slave

I came into this movie with no idea what it would be about (well partly, because the title does give it away) - but I came out thoroughly impressed.
One and a half thumbs up, incredulous points that there is another Steve McQueen, and SHUSH glares for the old ladies behind us who do not know how to whisper.
